Andar Kahini “Self Exile” won a special mention Jaffna 4th

in The Fourth Jaffna Film Festival in Sri Lanka
From the Jury Composed of Safaa Elaisy Haggag  from egypt, Archana Urvashi from south India and Mauran Muralitharan from Sri-lanka.
Good Script , Classical Directing
We were impressed by “Self Exile” glamorous idea. It combined four stories of women who dedicated their lives to men. The titles of the stories are: the daughter, the sister, the friend and the wife. The filmmaker (Arnab Middya) gave the four parts to the same leading actress. Every part ends with a song according to the Indian style. It is a limited budget movie maneuvering through the Indian filmmaking elements in an attempt to escape from them
,

however, it still has a strong impact and its classic method of narration is dominating. It won a special mention by the Festival Jury.
The filmmaker Arnab Middya used the face veil as well in his movie “Self Exile”, in the fourth story of the movie about an unemployed husband and a wife who accepts to work as a prostitute while she wears a face veil to hide, and her husband plays the role of an Arab husband when they ride a car together.  The Hindu director Arnab Middya, criticize the common appearance of Muslims and narrate stories which are probably inspired by real stories. In comment to what I wrote Arnab explain: In story no.4, my point is that if we want to hide our identify then we can easily wear borkhoa or other attires wearing by that person.. and if they perform any crime then muslims are blamed for that attire only.. nobody become interested to identify that persons original religion, and most of the cases we judge person on basis of his or attire or name/surname.. which is really dangerous

Arnab wrote his film , struggle for the production, at the end he finish his good film which obtains many prizes and still sharing different festivals .
I met Arnab in train station of Colombo with Vasanthi Senartane and Nuwan jayaThilake, from first moment I consider him as a son to me, he always with charming smile. The Three of us had good chat in the train trip
